IMG_9798

I tried using Agar powder to make my own facial mask. Agar powder is a natural vegetarian product that can be added to boiled water to make your own jelly face mask.

Ingredients Needed:

1 Tablespoon Agar Powder

2 Tea bags ( Hibiscus or Green)

1/4 Cup Water

1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

Steps:

  1. Mix turmeric powder and agar in bowl, put to the side
  2. Bring water and tea bags to a boil
  3. Add agar mix to boiling water
  4. Stir until mix begins to boil and all lumps are removed
  5. Remove from heat when it begins to make bubbles
  6. Pour into container and let mask cool
  7. Using your hands or a face brush apply mask to face
  8. Leave mask on your face for 15-30 minutes
  9. To remove the jelly mask begin peeling away from face
  10. Wash remaining mask from face
  11. Moisturize face with your favorite moisturizer or oils

Summer SkinCare Fun

IMG_9777

Summer is one of my favorite seasons! I enjoy the time I get to spend with my family and friends and all the cool things we get to do around Cleveland. While I enjoy being out and about I also take time to make sure I am taking care of my skin. To keep my skin clear and blemish free I rely on a few products to keep my skin happy.

Pictured above are my favorite things right now;

  1. Aveeno Clear Complexion helps remove any traces of makeup left on my face, I use this daily and love that it is oil-free and non-drying so far this is the only product that helps my sensitive skin.
  2. Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask, once a week I like to apply a facial mask, my favorite at the moment is this mud mask which smells amazing and helps brighten my skin and also contains Tea Tree Oil which helps fade scars and treat acne. The best part? I only paid $2 for this pack and I got multiple uses out of it. To keep the pack from drying out after you open it store it in a plastic baggie.
  3. See that weird looking Pink thing in the picture above, that’s my favorite Silicone Facial Cleaning Brush. I purchased this off Amazon,  it comes with a case to store it in as well as a USB charger once the battery drains, what I love is that I have had it for 2 months now and I have yet to charge it! this is what I use to really work my Aveeno Cleanser into my skin and it has multiple speeds for you to choose from. It fits perfectly in my hands and is easy to clean. I spent less than $20 for this and love how smooth my skin feels after I use it.
  4. DermaRoller– I use a dermaroller every week or 2 weeks to help rejuvenate my skin,  and reduce the dark circles under my eyes. At first I was scared to use a DermaRoller but after watching  countless YouTube videos on how to properly roll my face and seeing the benefits I am happy with my purchase.

If you are looking for some new products to add to your skincare routine give these a try everything is under $20, let me know how they worked for you!
